ADS1282EVM-PDK: What to do with the PINMOD pin?

Part Number: ADS1282EVM-PDK
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1281, ADS1282

On the schematics for the ADS1281/82EVM Rev A Pin 25 of U6 is tied to PINMOD. I am leveraging the ADS1282EVM for a development project around the ads1282. I assume I just tie pin 25 to ground as shown in the ADS1282 datasheet. Or is there something in the code for the -PDK firmware that uses this pin? Am I missing anything?

  • Hi Dean,

The ADS1282EVM shouldn't try to control the "PINMOD" pin. That pin name only applies to the ADS1281. On the ADS1282, pin 25 corresponds to DGND.

I don't think you need add a ground tie to pin 25 on the ADS1282EVM, but it would be okay if you do.

If you are using your own controller board, then just take care not to accidentally drive pin 25 high (through the U7 I/O expander) as you will liklly sink a lot of current through the ADS1282's DGND pin.

    Best regards,
    Chris
