ADC Conversion Clock frequency and ADC Conversion Rate

Hi ,

May I know the difference between ADC conversion clock frequency and ADC conversion rate. How are they related. When designing antialiasing filter which parameter I need to consider.

ADC conversion clock frequency or ADC conversion rate. I saw this parameters in the datasheet of one microcontroller.

  • Hi Hari,

What device are you looking at?  This is a really low rate for our line of high speed data converters.  For this device it looks like you need to have a different ADC clock which will result in a given conversion rate.

In general conversion rate is the rate at which the analog input signal is sampled by the input sample and hold of the ADC.

For anti-aliasing purposes, you should design your filter to account for the conversion rate with the assumption that the ADC conversion rate is the sample rate.

If you can let us know the specific device we can ensure that this is better supported by the appropriate team.

    Ken.
