Hello myself and my counterpart have tried to get the ADS1292-ECG-FE Demo Kit software, ADS1292EVM_SW_v1.11 running on several different machines including both WIN7 and WIN10 Machines. Every time this software has been installed on any of the PC's and the program is executed we get the following Error that pops up upon running the application...when I try to read the registers it shows the progress bar as if it is doing something but no values are shown in the window. The Microsoft C++ package also has been installed on each of these machines. I am well aware that this software has not been vetted on WIN10 but I have tried to run this on 2 different WIN7 machines with the same result as shown below? Any advice?

I would also like to inquire about getting the source for the MSP430 that is on the ADS1292R-ECG-Demo board along with the Graphical/PC software as I have read this source is available upon request.

Hi Frank,

The ADS1292ECG-FE software should run on Win 7. You need to be an administrator on the PC and you may have to 'manually' install the driver. Please open the device manager and when the EVM is plugged in via USB, let us know if the board is enumerated. It should show up under Ports (COM & LPT). The MSP430 source code is located in the install directory >Texas Instruments->ADS1x9xevm->Firmware->Source Code

Hello Tom,

Yes I would agree the Software should run on a WIN7 Machine but it does not on 2 different WIN7 machines that I have tested so far. Regardless, of the COM Driver which I have already manually installed and it does show correctly as shown below. The issue lies in that the Current Software package that is available for download simply does not seem to work? No matter what is done it always opens up with the following error window that I reported earlier and is shown below also showing that the COM port does show correctly.

Can you please verify what this Error Code 8 is and how to get this software package working? From doing some Google searches on *.vi files it appears to have to do with LabView.

Does something need to be installed from National Instruments that is not in the Installer? Is this verified to work on a x64bit WIN7 OS?

Hello Please not this has been fixed. While it seems silly as I am the Admin on all my machines I had to right-click the exe and choose "run as an administrator". Thanks for your help.

BTW - To close this ticket out I would like to receive the firmware for the MSP430 and source code for the PC application I have seen in other posts that this can be made available upon request. Please send to my email that is used for myTI login.

Great news Frank!

The MSP430 firmware source is actually on your PC already, it's part of the install as I noted earlier. The GUI source is here:

Hi Frank,

Did you copy/paste the entire link into your browser? You can also try just starting with ftp.ti.com and then go through the directories as noted above.
