ADS1232REF, load cell

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1232REF, ADS1232

Good morning, I would like to ask for help to configure the ADS1232REF computer board, it is being used in a Scale project, I am using 4 load cells with 3-wire bridge (CZL913EC), and the only data that appears on the screen is NO DATE , ANGEL Could you help me. Thanks in advance for your attention.

  • Hi Fernando,

Welcome to the forum!  I believe the actual messages you are seeing are either 'NO DATA' or 'NO CAL'.  These messages may be seen when the mode switch is in the SCALE position.  To properly calibrate the ADS1232REF for scale mode, you would need to follow the instructions in section 2 of the user's guide.

To use in scale mode jumpers J7 and J8 must be removed (which are used for noise tests in Analysis mode).  The ADS1232 accepts a differential input. Information regarding the load cells you are using is unclear as to the 3-wire connections.  Normally you would have at least 4 wires where two are used for excitation and two are used as load cell output.  Using multiples of your load cell may create a differential output, but as I said the information regarding the load cell is very limited.

The differential output must also be within the common-mode input range for the ADS1232.  At a gain of 128, the output must be very close to AVDD/2.

Please send me detailed information as to how you have connected your load cells to the ADS1232REF and I may be able to give further information.

    Best regards,

    Bob B
