CCS/ADS1292R: ADS1292RECG-FE Respiraion Electrode placement

Part Number: ADS1292R

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi,

On the ADS1292RECG-FE eval kit Respiration electrode connected to the ERL (Right leg) DB9 INPUT, So for us, the respiration electrode should be placed on the right side of the body as below:

It works fine with this default configuration, but for some reason, we prefer to place the respiration electrode on the left side (LL)  as below:

Is it possible? is there any software of hardware configuration to use the LL for Respiration measurement?

Best Regards,

Haithem.

  • I made mistake and I can't edit my post, the correct post is below:

  • Hello Haithem,

There is no provision on the board to use the electrode labelled "LL" for respiration, but it is just a label. You can connect any electrode to any place you want. The only actual requirement is that respiration impedance measurement be done doing channel 1 of the ADS1292R since that channel has the circuitry to perform that function. It does not matter if you use Lead I or Lead II for respiration.

Eventually when you design your own board, you can change the front end routing to fit your custom needs better.
