    The firmware for the PGA450-Q1's internal 8051 MCU is available on the PGA450-Q1 Tools & Software page ( www.ti.com/.../toolssoftware ) as the TIDA-00151 UART & LIN Demo Firmware for PGA450-Q1 v2.4 (Rev. D) ( www.ti.com/.../tidcab3 ).

    What specific features are you seeking to implement? The features already included in the demo are listed in the PGA450Q1EVM-S User's Guide and TIDA-00151 UART Demo Instructional (Rev. B) ( www.ti.com/.../sldu019 ) in section "2.3 UART Command Listing".
    Note: the demo code is compatible for both the UART and LIN communication modes.

    Have you considered the latest generation PGA460-Q1 ultrasonic sensor signal conditioner IC? The PGA460 is a slave only device, so no internal 8051 or equivalent processor is included for custom firmware development (this would be offloaded to your external MCU instead). The PGA460 is superior in every aspect of performance (max single record range up to 11m instead of 7m), power consumption (offers 300uA low-power mode), size (TSSOP16 instead of TSSOP28), and cost ($1.65 instead of $2.60 at 1k units).
