Invalid Project Description Error

Hi,

Whenever I am trying to open up one of my projects I am getting these errors. This is extremely frustrating as I am consitantly having to go and make new projects to get things to work. Is there a fix to this? Am I doing something wrong?

Invalid project description.
C:\Users\dbelle\workspace_v5_1\dataLog22 overlaps the location of another project: 'dataLog22'

Hi Derek,

could you please provide a bit more information?

- how are you opening the projects? What CCS version do you use?

- do you have multiple projects/workspaces of the same name?

- do you get any error logs generated?

- could you send more details/screenshots etc of what you are doing and experiencing?

Hi Lisa,

I am using CCSv5.2
I am opening the projects by importing them into CCS

I copied the project into a new workspace and I could open it, but I am still getting this error:

Before copying the project into a new workspace I would get the error:

With this error I could not open the project at all. I have looked through the directory and I do not have another project named dataLog22.

Hi Derek,

are you using Project->Import existing CCS/Eclipse project? What version where these generated wtih? The first screen shot shows only a warnging so this should be ok.

So is your only error importing?

In your first screen shot this warning is simply due to a path that seems to be entered twice. Have a look at this wiki as it should be able to help you check that.

Have not gotten a chance to reinstall CCS as yet.

I will be doing it later tonight though, and will post up the results.

Its funny because it is happening on both my Desktop and my Laptop.

I gave up since I was having problems with the new version of the compiler as well.

I reinstalled CCS and transfered the needed projects to the new workspace and everything seems to work fine.
