Debug not working on CCS5.5 in fedora 19 x64

Hi,

 Error loading libdebug.so. Please make sure that the file exists (/opt/ti/ccsv5/ccs_base/DebugServer/drivers/libdebug.so)

Does the file libdebug.so exist in the respective directory? If yes, there is a possibility that it might have got corrupted.

Did you try installing a fresh copy of CCS? Also try downloading ""libdebug.so" individually if possible.

Yes, the file does exist. I will try to find another version of the library to chech for file corruption.

I copied libdebug.so from a fresh install on a ubuntu vm. CCS is still complaining. I forgot to mention it never worked for me on my laptop.

Is it possible to get some verbose output on my terminal? I tried running ccs in my terminal, but that gives me no feedback. I remember reading about it somewhere, but I had no time at that moment to try it. Do you know how to enable this?

Sorry for my late response, this is a school project, and I can also use my windows box. This would be very useful, and would save me a lot of time, but since I have my windows box too, this hasn't been my top priority.

Can you check you have all the dependencies for this library? Specifically, what is the output of "ldd libdebug.so"?

One thing that sprung to my eye, is that most of those depedencies are x86_64, while I believe that ccs is x86_32

Note: making libdebug executable has no effect.

I've found that although you are able to configure this target, it is apparently not supported on Linux. The files that allow you to configure it should not be present. I can offer you a beta version of this library that should work though. If you want to try it, please extract and add the attached file to your install.5460.libdebug.so.gz

Thanks, that worked. I'm not getting errors from libdebug anymore. Then it started complaining about libusb and libfdt2xx. I solved that with this thread, but now it throws these errors in stdout when I try to debug:

i = 3, rc = -3
Failed to open device (Reason = LIBUSB_ERROR_ACCESS).
Failed to load dynamic library: 'libftd2xx.so' (libftd2xx.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory)
Unable to load FTD2xx library

I had to install the FTD2xx libraries from here:

http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/D2XX.htm

Be sure to install the 32-bit library since CCS uses 32-bit libraries.

Where did you install the drivers? I followed the readme file's instructions and put it in /usr/local/lib. I also created a symlink in /opt/ti/ccsv5/ccs_base/DebugServer/drivers that points to the libtfd2xx.so.<version> but I still get the Failed to load dynamic library: 'libftd2xx.so' error

I just copied the i386 versions of the library builds to /usr/local/lib, made a symbolic link libftd2xx.so to it, then ran ldconfig.
