AM3359 JTAG connection error "security violation"

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM3359, SYSBIOS

Hi, I'm having "security violation" issues with connecting to AM3359 via JTAG. All voltage levels on the board have been verified.

The error I get in CCSv5.4 in the Debug window when connecting to the AM3359 board is:

Error connecting to the target:

(Error -1260 @ 0x0)

Requested operation failed for security violation. Check security/priviledge settings, and retry the operation.

(Emulation package 5.1.340.0)

The JTAG connection test runs successfully and shows that the XDS560v2 emulator is able to make a connection with the ARM:

[Start]

Execute the command:

%ccs_base%/common/uscif/dbgjtag.exe -f %boarddatafile% -rv -o -F inform,logfile=yes -S pathlength -S integrity

[Result]

This is where the stack pointer points to in sysbios:

Any ideas regarding this issue would be greatly appreciated. The only reference to this issue I have found is here, but with no specific solution: http://e2e.ti.com/support/development_tools/code_composer_studio/f/81/t/233751.aspx

Thanks,

Unfortunately I'll have to give the same suggestion I gave in that other thread - posting in the AM335x device forum.

  • Problem solved. The issue I had here was a hardware issue. Although the JTAG connection gives an error saying "security violation", the real problem was that my board had a loose net and was not supplying power to one of the pins in the ARM. If anyone ever gets this issue, please verify your hardware.

  • Which pin?  Thanks.
