Register values not updating

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CONTROLSUITE

Hi,

I am using CCS v6 for TMS 28335. According to my code particular GPIO pins are toggled. Its reflected in the CRO and the LED but when I want to see it in register (GPAMUX) of CCS it is not getting updated. It shows 0x000 only after selecting continuous refresh also. Please help me out with this.

Regards,

Abhishek

  • Abhishek,

I don't think there is a problem with the functionality of CCS itself as I did a quick test with a ControlSuite example using F28335 experimenters kit, and was able to see GPIO registers update as expected in the Registers view when the "continuous refresh" button is set.

A couple of things you can try. Right-click on the register in the Register view and click on Watch to open it in the Expressions view. Set that view to  "continuous refresh" and check if it updates there. You can also open a memory browser at that address by right-clicking on the register and clicking on "View Memory at Address", set the memory browser to  "continuous refresh"  and check if it updates there. I was able to see registers update in all these views.

You could also test with a ControlSuite example (the GPIO toggle example is the one I tested) and that may help narrow down the issue further.

  • Aarti,

    Thanks for your quick reply.

Initially, continuous refresh wasn't working. I used Expressions (GpioDataRegs) to look output of GPIO pins which seem to be working fine. At the same time above mentioned problem was also solved.

    Thanks

  • Hi. I am also working on EZDSP320F28335 using CCS v6 and C2000 XDS510LC JTAG. I am getting the same problem. I have succesfully complied the program for toggling the GPIO. The registers are not updating during the debug. Even i am not able to watch the GPIO toggling on CRO.

I really appreciate if you could please guide me.

    Thank you
