Is it possible for TI to release XDS110 TM4C firmware?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2650

Hi,

I have posted the question here:

I am wondering if TI CCS team can release the firmware (binary is OK) for me to make stand-alone XDS110 debugger?

  • Robert,

The plan is for this to be an open design. There is some development work going on but once that is done we will put more official information online.

The firmware is present in CCS: ccsv6\ccs_base\common\uscif\xds110

    Regards,
    John
  • Hi John,

    Great to hear the news.

There are two bin files under xds100 folder: boot_loader.bin & firmware.bin

Do you know what are the starting addresses of both bin files in TM4C flash memory?

  • There is a readme file in the same folder that describes how to use some of the utilities and has some good information.  If you scroll down to the LM Flash section it has the addresses there.  I believe it is 0x000 for the boot load and 0x4000 for the firmware.

    Regards,

    John

  • Thanks John, I have read the ReadMe.txt file. I think I can start to design a customized XDS110 debugger now.

  • John-

I have also assisted one of our customers design a custom XDS110 debugger, attempting to duplicate what is on the CC2650XL-LAUNCH board.

We have successfully loaded the two .bin files in the ..\uscif\xds110 onto the TM4C1294 debugger processor, using the LM Flash utility over the debug section a the TM4C1294Launch pad.

That all seems to work and the debugger enumerates in Windows as one would expect.

However, we are still not able to debug the target CC2650.

Can you please, please, please contact me internally- we've struggled with this for 3 weeks and it is getting critical.

Thanks, Best, Steven Dunbar, AFA Colorado
