CCS/CC2640: CCS crash while configuring debugger

I have had a problem develop with my installation of CCS v6.1.3.00033 when attempting to debug a CC2640 chip using the XDS110 debug probe on the CC2650 experimenters board. I have programmed about 100 chips using the same configuration with no issue until recently CCS started crashing right after displaying the attached dialog when attempting to debug. No error report is given, it simply jumps to Windows checking for a problem and closing - see the other attached image.

I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling (both 6.2 and 6.1.3) and get the same behavior. Additionally, I have two physical XDS110s on exp boards, and they also behave the same way.

The only similar issue I have found on the forums is here. I admit that I did not do the exact uninstall as mentioned there (deleting C:/ti/ccsv6), but I believe the uninstallation process does that anyway.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions for other fixes that I can try.

Yes, there have been several reported cases of CCS crashing when starting the debugger. The issue seems specific to running CCS on Windows 10:
e2e.ti.com/.../ccsv7_5F00_ctools

There is a workaround (as mentioned in the threads), but instead I'd like you to try out a fix we have for it. We haven't released it yet so please contact me via private message if you are willing to try out the fix.
