It is said that "With the release of CCSv7 all previous v4, v5 and v6 releases are free of charge. Simply unzip and copy the License File for Older versions into <install dir>/ccs_base/DebugServer/license or point CCS to its location when prompted."

Is there any code size limit to the free license? I am evaluating the latest CCS 6.2, supposed to be completely free, and experiencing an error message saying output file "aaa.out" exceeds code size limit. Is It normal or am I missing something? Some linker configuration perhaps? Thanks,

More I found in the page

that "FULL CCSv6 license files are now available for NO cost and available for download from the below link:

CCS Full License

There are no restrictions in regards to time, code size, debug probe or target used."

Where am I wrong?

It is a linker limitation which is enforced by the eval/bundled license that CCSv6 defaults to. To unlock the full features, please "activate" CCS with the full license as mentioned in the link you gave above.
