CCS/CC2650STK: CC2650 cannot connect to target

Part Number: CC2650STK
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2650,

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hello all

I have successfully installed ccs 7.2 and ble stack 2.2.1. I can compile "sensortag_cc2650stk_app and _stack" but i cannot connect to the target. I have connected the dev board to the CC2650 correctly, when it is connected to the pc it shows up under Texas Instruments Debug Probes (XDS110 data port and debug probe". When connected i can connect my iphone to the sensor tag and see it works. When i do a device connection test i receive the following message, what is the problem here, could you help me please. Once connected i want to be able to change the range of the accelerometer, sensitivity and log the data to the pc depending on the acceleration value. What is the defult range of the acceloemeter, where can i change the value?

This utility has selected a 100- or 510-class product.

This utility will load the adapter 'jioxds110.dll'.

The library build date was 'May 23 2017'.

The library build time was '19:37:36'.

The library package version is '6.0.628.3'.

The library component version is '35.35.0.0'.

The controller does not use a programmable FPGA.

An error occurred while hard opening the controller.

-----[An error has occurred and this utility has aborted]--------------------

This error is generated by TI's USCIF driver or utilities.

The value is '-260' (0xfffffefc).

The title is 'SC_ERR_XDS110_OPEN'.

The explanation is:

An attempt to connect to the XDS110 failed.

The cause may be one or more of: no XDS110 is connected, invalid

firmware update, invalid XDS110 serial number, or faulty USB

cable. The firmware and serial number may be updated using the

xdsdfu utility found in the .../ccs_base/common/uscif/xds110

directory of your installation. View the ReadMe.txt file there

for instructions.

This question you may want to try starting a new thread in the bluetooth low energy forum. The experts there can help you best.

Now as for your connection issue:

You are getting a type of connection error described in the below link:

Try the suggestions there... especially the part about the firmware version

    Thanks

  • Hi Ki

After a long time i finally got the connection working by pluging it in to my powered usb port on my laptop. Now using xdsdfu -e it shows 1 device found.
    Thanks
