CCS: linux glibc version

Dear,

the Linux CCS installer blocks at line about "debugserver" because it is compiled using glibc v2.4, as far as I understand from several posts like this one.

To use CCS in some Linux distributions such Arch or Manjaro (based upon the previous) which use glibc v2.6, a downgrade is required, which for many reasons is not recommended.

Is there the plan to solve this in upcoming CCS > 7.30? Also, I guess someday CCS will get rid of 32-bit dependencies.

Please, let me know your opinion, plan and / or recommendations.

Thanks for your work.

Have a nice day.

  • Hello,
Yes, this is a known issue (CCSIDE-3131). We don't currently have clear timeline on when it will be addressed. All I know for sure is that it will be post v7.4.0.

    Thanks

  • Hi Kazola,

    Regarding

...CCS will get rid of 32-bit dependencies.

It is true the compilers and linkers included in CCS require a 32-bit loader on Linux (ldd), but no other 32-bit dependencies should exist. The compilers and linkers are still 32-bit but also statically link all dependencies and hence should only require a 32-bit ldd.
