CCS/LAUNCHXL-CC1350: Project0 won't download

Part Number: LAUNCHXL-CC1350
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC1350

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

In project explorer, under:

developer tools -> Kits and boards -> CC1350 Launchpad

When I try to download and install Project0, it gets stuck at 75%. I've tried a number of times, rebooting, restarting, etc.

  • Spanky,

For the project0 you don't want to download it via Resource Explorer. What you want to download is the SImpleLInk CC13xx SDK. That can be done via Resource Explorer. The project 0 page is just the instructions. The button really should not be there on that page and that will get corrected. Today the button shows up on every page in resource explorer but is really only relevant for the software packages.

  • Ahh, so the counterintuitive world of TI strikes again. It appears Project0 really isn't a project, is it? Don't you think it would make sense to name it something more appropriate that would indicate it is an instruction page and not a project?
  • I can see how that could be confusing. "Project" here means your first project where project is a task or activity vs the source project for an IDE. I suppose they could name it your first task but that would have the same issue with confusion with OS tasks. Is there a name that resonates with you?
  • Yeah, "Project0 Instructions" at least the implication there is that its just a document and not a project in the CCS sense. I suppose the notion of a "Project" in the CCS sense is also an incredibly misleading and confusing construct as well, but that's another topic.

Or how about a "Getting Started" type title. The "Project" part is just misleading.
  • Thanks. I have passed this along as there will be some activities this year to be more consistent in what we are providing for each device and software package. Which documents/demos... are provided and how they are named will be part of that effort.

    John
