CCS/CODECOMPOSER: F28379D support compatible GUI composer version for the application devloped using ccs Version: 7.1.0.00016

Part Number: CODECOMPOSER

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

It doesn't seem like this problem has been resolved. I've also cleared the suggested line in the 'f28379d_cpu1.gel' file but the program still clears when loading through the gui composer. It works fine through ccs.

  • Craig,

The issue is tracked by GC-1133 which is still unresolved. The basic problem is that the sequence of steps is that the component the does the flashing does a reset when it gets loaded (i.e. when the dll gets loaded). This is not a problem in CCS for most sequences as typically you program the device afterwards. However in GUI Composer the sequence of steps is different and you end up having a reset occur after the program is loaded.

This should be resolved in the first GUI Composer release after CCSv8.1. As part of the CCSv8.1 project the ability to control if that reset occurs is being implemented. The next GUI Composer release would then expose that functionality. I will see if I can get a date for that.

Are you able to change the project so that your program is loaded to Flash?

  • John,

I understood the general issue but thanks for clarifying.

I would very much appreciate an estimated date of the new release. Are we talking weeks or months time frame?

As a follow up then, do all C2000 family controllers have this issue? I'd like to use the GUI feature within the next week or two.
  • The issue impacts the majority of newer C2000 devices. Some older ones use a different library that does not have the issue. So basically it impacts all relevant C2000 devices.

  • I just heard back that this would be addressed in our May GUI Composer release.
  • Thanks a lot for your promptness on this!
  • No problem. Hopefully we can get the solution to you quickly.
