CCS/TMS320C206: latest CCS supporting it and get evaluation version

Part Number: TMS320C206
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CODECOMPOSER

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Spin-off from thread where JohnS posted on March 20 2018 at 7:52pm

He offers a link to code size limited eval version of CodeComposer 3.3, and I understand this is the last version to support the TMS320C204, and I'm looking at building on a legacy product based around this. My customer is still searching for any materials they may still have from the late 1990s, but a cut down version of the CCSV3.3 would give me a chance to assess whether the project is viable if I can access it before we commit to spending a couple of thousand dollars on a XDS510PP Plus and a full CCS licence.

What I know we still have is a TMS320C20X EVM and a XDS510 emulator. What I am pretty sure we have lost is the ISA card for the XDS510 (though we can find them offered on ebay) and both Texas assembler software and Spectrum Digital software to go with the eval board (those twenty year old  floppies now appear as unformatted)

Actually, Code Composer Studio v3.3 is the last versiont to support C24x. But for C20x support, you will need to go several versions before that one. Code Composer v4 is that last version to support it. Note that this is "Code Composer"... without the "Studio". The "Code Composer" line pre-dates the "Code Composer Studio" line (Code Composer v4 is before Code Composer Studio v1). I do not believe there is an eval option for Code Composer v4, but I will take a look and let you know.

    Thanks
