Hello,

I have a target error with the Spectrum Digital XDS560V2 STM USB Emulator.

All seems to be well connected but I got the following error:

Spectrum Digital XDS560V2 STM USB Emulator_0/CortexR5 : Target must be connected before loading program.

I changed the target board but the error is still there.

Is this problem a probe hardware problem?

Is this problem a software problem?

What can I do?

This error is saying that the CCS debugger (not the debug probe) has not established connection. When you use the "Debug" button to debug a project, the target is connected automatically. If a debug session is started manually, then you need to manually connect the CCS debugger to the target. You can do this with the "connect" button. See at the 0:30 mark for an example of the connect button:

Thanks very much for your fast reply.
Usually, when I press the debug button the connection is set automatically.
Now the connection is not established.
I tried to push on the button "connect target" but it’s not available.
What can I do else?

In the "Debug" view, you have "RM57_Oruga_4_69" selected. Select the node underneath it(Spectrum Digital XDS560V2 STM USB Emulator_0/CortexR5). That will give you the proper context and enable the option.
