CCS/DRA74: Memory Throughput Analysis not working for DRA74x devices

Part Number: DRA74

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

When trying to use the Memory Throughput Analysis configuration of the Hardware Trace Analyzer in CCS, I'm getting almost always invalid results (0MB/s for all measurements). In very rare cases (<5%) I'm getting results which seem to make some sense. That's the case for my currently used CCS versions 7.4.0.00015 and 8.2.0.00007. The number of shown records in the 'Memory Throughput - CT_STM_Config' window of CCS is always quite low and usually just between 1200 and 1400 records independently how long the DSP was executing code. For System Trace I'm using Transport Type 'ETB'. I'm using ETB as well in a PC Trace configuration, but in that case I can see several 100k of DSP instructions stored in ETB. Means buffer size of ETB should be sufficient to store more than just 1200-1400 records of Memory Throughput data. For me it looks like measurement data of the statistic collectors is not really stored in ETB, but I've no idea what I should do differently to get it working, and why it sometimes seems to work although I'm always using the same steps to set up this analysis configuration.

I'm using the Spectrum Digital XDS560v2 STM emulator for debugging.

Could anybody get Memory Throughput Analysis working without any problems on one of the DRA7xx devices?

Best regards,

Manfred
