Compiler/TMS570LC4357: INTERNAL ERROR: C:\ti\ccsv7\tools\compiler\ti-cgt-arm_16.9.4.LTS\bin\armlnk.exe experienced an unhandled exception

Part Number: TMS570LC4357

Tool/software: TI C/C++ Compiler

My code composer is giving the following error when I try to build the program:

INTERNAL ERROR: C:\ti\ccsv7\tools\compiler\ti-cgt-arm_16.9.4.LTS\bin\armlnk.exe experienced an unhandled exception

This is caused by a defect in the TI Linker.
TI Customer Support may be able to suggest a workaround to avoid this.

Upgrading to the newest version of the compiler may fix this problem.

Contact TI in the E2E support forums at http://e2e.ti.com under
"Development Tools", "TI C/C++ Compiler". See the link titled
"Submitting an issue".

We need to see this ENTIRE error message and a complete, reproducable
test case including ALL of the command-line options.
Include all of the object files, libraries, and linker command files
used to link the program.

  • To investigate this problem, we need to reproduce it.  And for that, we need the entire CCS project.  Please package it up as described in the article Project Sharing.  Then attach it it your next post.

    Thanks and regards,

    -George

  • Please ignore my last post.  I apologize.  I totally overlooked the fact that you did attach the CCS project.

    Thanks and regards,

    -George

  • Thank you for submitting a test case.  I can reproduce the error.  I filed CODEGEN-3801 in the SDOWP system to have this investigated.  You are welcome to follow it with the SDOWP link below in my signature.

As a workaround, version 16.9.3.LTS successfully builds the code.  To install this version from within CCS, select Help | Install New Software.  Configure the dialog box just like the screen shot below.  Note Show only the latest versions of available software must not be checked.

    Thanks and regards,

    -George
