TINA/Spice/TINA-TI: TINA error message

Hi, I am not sure if I am writing a question on a right place.

I am using TINA software and for some time it worked well. Then messages about error(s) started to appear and I am not able to start simulator anymore.

I am getting either something like this "Invalid pointer operation" or "Access violation address 41004496 in module BORLNDMM.DLL. Write of address BB45834D" no matter which simulation I want to run.

I would appreciate your help.

Marina,

I have seen the "Access Violation" error sporadically. Please try the following

(1) Make sure you are using the latest version of TINA-TI
(2) Close TINA-TI and open it again. This has resolved the issue for me in all cases I have encountered.

If that does not work, please share your TSC file and we will see if this error can be replicated.

Hi Nikhil,
Thanks for replay. I am using Version 9.3.150.4 SF-TI
and unfortunately allready tried with restart. It worked for a while but not anymore and I didnt change schematic in the meantime.

HI Marina,

Please update to the latest version on TI.com and see if it works. It is 9.3.150.328.

Followup question: (1) Does this only happen when you open a certain TSC file? If so, can you attach this file?

It happens with all TSC files. Always same errors.

I've downloaded it again and it still doesnt work. Is there any other link?

Hi Marina,

It looks like the link that you are pointing to is still downloading the older version. I would recommend uninstalling it as it is causing some issues on your computer and installing the latest version from the TINA-TI landing page: www.ti.com/.../tina-ti&DCMP=hpa_amp_general&HQS=Other OT tina-ti. Let me know if that helps.

Hi Nikhil,

Unfortunately, the new version does not work anymore. I tried, of course, to restart, but it does not help. Again, it shows identical errors.

Hi Marina,

At this time, I will have to contact the developer of the tool to see if they can provide an alternate to make it work. I have send them a note and awaiting their response.

Hi marina,

The developers got back. It is a little hard to tell just from that error message. Can you please check the following?

Does the virtual scope still working (TM.Scope) or a simple analysis like Analysis.DC Analysis.Calculate nodal voltages.., etc?

Hi Marina,

The developer's best guess is that this may not be related to TINA-TI itself. A google search reveals that this may be related to other aspects on your computer. Few examples can be found here and here but in your search you will find more information about this error.

Please try installing this on another machine to see if the issue persists as a workaround.
