DLPLCRC410EVM: The device can't be recognized by the GUI

Hi Team,

Our customer is trying to connect the DLPLCRC410EVM to the computer but the GUI doesn't recognize the device. The customer followed the instructions in the User's Guide but it still didn't worked. Please see the screenshot of the GUI and some images of the board. What could be the cause of this issue?

Danilo,

Do you know what version of the GUI they are using. There is an older GUI that works with the previous EVMs. The newer EVM has an updated APPS_FPGA code and an updated GUI to match so that it can recognize the DLP650LNIR.

Thank you for your response. How can we determine the version of the EVM? Is it the highlighted portion of the board below?

Can we have a copy of the older GUI so that the customer could test on his EVM?

This is the latest version of the controller EVM that is on ti.com. Thank you for the image.

Just checking: Do you know if the customer downloaded the version 2.0 of the GUI? It is highlighted as:

DLP Discovery 4100 Explorer GUI version 2.0 – DLPC133.ZIP (12206KB)

You can get to the previous version of the GUI on this page:

The link is: DLP Discovery 4100 Explorer GUI – DLPC104.ZIP (12182KB)

What I think is happening is that the EVM has the previous version of the APPS_FPGA that is designed to work with the earlier GUI (link above). You can load and try this version.

If it does not work with this GUI please let me know!

According to the customer,

Whatever I download from DLPC104.ZIP link, it automatically gives me a file DLPC104A instead. Also, the installer in that folder is the same 2.0 version. I uninstalled and reinstalled it again, just in case but the program still does not recognize the device.

Thank you for sharing the download link to the DLPC104.ZIP. I have shared the link to the customer but according to him,

I did what you have instructed but it still wouldn't detect the device. Could it be that the device is defective? if so, could I get a replacement?

Sorry, there is some confusion here with another thread. The DLP650LNIR can only be recognized by GUI 2.0.

They will need the latest EVM. Let me discuss this with our management.

I can see clearly from the pictures that this is the DLPR410A, which is designed to work with the DLPR650LNIR, so there does appear to be some issue.

I have been able to confer with management and they said please go ahead and request an RMA from the distributor or TI depending on who they purchased from.

You can point to this thread and the start date of the communication
