DLP4500: Technical issues

Part Number: DLP4500

Hi team,

I got a question from customer.

I am using the DLP4500 RGB for my application. I have problems after displaying the video(59.94fps) under video mode(HDMI source) and pattern mode (HDMI source) . Hope you can help me to understand the operation of these modes.I need a stable trigger to be my pattern trigger in my single pixel camera application .The pattern mode can't help me with only 32MB internal flash memory,so I tried the pattern mode HDMI source and Video mode to display the video on my DMD(2 ways).

When displaying my homemade video (The video is made with 2 images ,and make them switch continuously)

First image: 912*1140pixels white pixel at the corner and others are black.

Second image: 912*1140pixels all black.

I used a CW laser to illuminate the corner of the DMD and try to get the reflected signal received from the detector. In my plan ,I should get a stable periodic 30 Hz square wave (Vsync:60Hz and I switch 2 images in a row so it's 30 Hz).

However ,I got an unstable square wave. Sometimes

Thank you very much for your help.

Best regards,

  • Hello XU,

Can you please ask the customer to perform the same experiment by displaying all white and all black images and check if he/she is getting a proper square wave. This should give more clarity and rule out any errors made in the external optical setup.

    Regards,

    Mayank
