Hi

I had the GUI installed on one computer (Win7) and am now trying to work on a new computer (Win10), but am encountering the same issues mentioned in this thread:

 https://e2e.ti.com/support/dlp-products-group/dlp/f/dlp-products-forum/1012851/dlplcrc410evm-where-can-i-find-the-d4100explorer-2-0-windows-installer-exe-file-mentioned-in-the-manual

I tried the suggested ijn the thread; manually registering DDC4100.ocx using the command "C:\Windows\SysWoW64\regsvr32 C:\Windows\SysWoW64\DDC4100.ocx" (and also "C:\Windows\System32\regsvr32 C:\Windows\SysWoW64\DDC4100.ocx" since the regsvr32 exists in both folders)

Also downloaded the X86 VCRedist and rebooted...

nothing seems to work.

Any other idea? (it is a 64-bit computer, similar to the older one)

I am not managing to import the ocx file into the regedit manually either. There seems to be some block...

Another thing: in the thread above they mention installing first the first version helped solve the problem, but I only see version 2 in the software support (there are two identicle installations both name 2.0, and the third provides the files without an instalation app)

  • Hello Yishai,

Do you have access to the installation file used on the Win7 machine?  This is the one they are referring to.

It appears that the latest Windows 10 updates from Microsoft have broken something beyond the items previously listed.

  • What kind of access? I downloaded the installation file form the support tab in https://www.ti.com/tool/DLPLCRC410EVM
I have tried installing on a private Win10 PC successfully, but not on an Enterprise version, I don't know if it has to do with it. Did you encounter this before? Do you have an idea what could be the problem?

  • Hello Yishai,

You mentioned that you had the GUI installed on a Windows 7 system previously.  I am asking if you still have that installer executable on that machine?

The latest installer is for the latest version.

Thank you for the important information that it installs successfully on a non-Enterprise version of Windows 10!  This is a big clue.

At this point I do not know what is causing the issue, but your report is very helpful!
