DLPC3479: Pattern Sequence configuration for DLP4710/DLPC3479

Part Number: DLPC3479
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP4710, , DLPC350, DLP4500

Hi E2E support,

I would like to ask about pattern sequence configuration for DLP4710/DLPC3479.
My customer wants to project the second and the subsequent patterns without any commands.
In other words, they want to project multiple patterns by using a pulse.

[Background]
Now, they are using DLP4500/DLPC350, and they are configuring the sequence described in an attached file.
They want to replace to DLP4710/DLPC3479.
Would you please tell me the above pattern sequences can be realized.
If yes, would you please how to set on GUI tool.

  • Hello Koike,

Thank you for your query, the DLPC3479 does support this feature. you are asking about "trigger in" I recommend you read  about Internal pattern mode in the DLPC3479 datasheet.

  • Hello Arthur Brown,

    Thank you for your answer.

According to "Figure 23 Trigger In Mode" in DLPC3479 datasheet, Trigger In signals(External) need to be input continuously to project each pattern.

We want to project multiple patterns by using "One Shot" Trigger Input pulse.

According to DLPC3479 Software Programmer's Guide, there is the following description.

    =====

    3.5.1.1 Write Parameters (90h)

The controller uses Trigger In Enable to indicate in which Internal Pattern Streaming mode the system operates:

    • Enable: Trigger In Mode, the system waits for an external signal to initiate the next pattern in a sequence.

    Koike

  • Koike,

As I understand the trigger input is required to "trigger" each pattern sequence if this function is enabled. If you don't want to wait for a trigger input, you can simply disable the "Trigger In Enable" per the DLPC3479 Programmer's Guide. The entire pattern set will play when you start the sequence.

Are you having any issues with this feature? Let us know if that is the case.

    Regards,

    Philippe
