# DLPDLCR4710EVM-G2: Defects in the continuity of the light intensity at different LED current values

We have suffered the discontinuity of the light intensity on the DLP4710EVM. Here's the question I asked two month ago.DLPDLCR4710EVM-G2: Defects in the continuity of the light intensity - DLP products forum - DLP®︎ products - TI E2E support forums. Due to the calibration of the Thorlab's optical power and energy meter, it took us a long time to retest the issue.

We have changed the current level range from 2000mA to 9500mA, selecting four specific current values as 2000mA, 5000mA, 8000mA and 9500mA, we still find that the same defects with the continuity of the light intensity when the blue channel is around 188.

Here's the data when the blue LED current is 9500mA (out of 16000mA).

Does this mean our DLP device has got a hardware issue when the external video offers blue channel a value at 188?

• Hello Li,

Can you please let us know if you are seeing the same behavior by displaying internal source ramp instead of external source (TPG color ramps). Also, please let us know if this discontinuity is color dependent/independent.

When I display the internal color ramp patterns, we can see the black line around 188 from the camera.

And we test the red and green channels at LED current value 6000mA, it seems that they won't decrease when we increase the channel value, which means no defects as blue channel. But there are two platforms around channel value 220 and 240. By the way there's a platform around 225 for blue channel. These platform is hard to figure out by the camera.

Currently, the EVM firmware is 1.6.0. The EVM software version is 1.5.1 and the DLPCrafter software version is 7.4.
