DLP4710LC: system takes too long to program and load pattern?

Part Number: DLP4710LC
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP4710EVM-LC

Hello,

in our company we have three DLP4710EVM-LC systems.

it didn't come to our mind so far however recently in our testings we noticed that the time it takes to upload our patterns to the systems is different between our systems.

on two of our systems, after configuring the timings and patterns and once clicking on the "Program and Load Pattern" button it would take approx 30 seconds for the GUI to finish flashing the patterns to the system for the first time, and approx 10-15 seconds on any time afterwards and up until we turn the system off and back on again.

and on our third system, after configuring the exact same patterns and timings, it would take approx 30 seconds for the GUI to finish flashing the patterns to the system for the first time, however when we try to upload the patterns again, unlike with our other system it would still take 30 seconds for the GUI to finish the flashing process.

other than the upload time all of the three systems work perfectly fine and all show the patterns correctly as programmed.

to rule out any sort of external variables we have used the same power supply, the same USB cable, the same computer, the same USB port and the same firmware file and pattern files on all three of our systems, however this phenomenon still persists.

is this something to be concerned of? or is this just a typical phenomenon and our third system works as intended?

  • Hello Sanleena,

Welcome to DLP forum and thank you for your interest in DLP technology.

It could due to variation in manufacturing or parts. If  system behaves otherwise normally and the patterns are being displayed correctly I don’t think that is a concern.

    regards,

    Vivek
