DLP9000XUV: Designing a DMD to operate with two states: off state and parked (flat) state

Part Number: DLP9000XUV

Is it possible to design a DMD to operates with two states: off state and parked (flat) state?

From the answer of other similar questions, I've found that this type of operation has long term reliability issue.

But I think this issue can be negligible for my application. So I want to ask "Designing a DMD with above two state" possible.

  • Hello Seongmin,

Welcome to the DLP products forum.

While it might be technically possible to design such a DMD it is not economically viable for us to develop a DMD that would have limited reliability and a small customer base.

I am not sure why it would not be possible to do with a standard DMD provided the Optical system is lined up on a given order that is blazed.   By definition the diffraction order would be phase coherent.  That is why it is a diffraction order.

Let me know if you would like to know more about this.
