DLPLCRC410EVM: Are there any data(mcs file) in the DLLCRC410EVM's FPGA by default?

Part Number: DLPLCRC410EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC410

Hi, support team

My customer has the questions as follow:

Are there any data(mcs file) in the DLLCRC410EVM's FPGA by default?

When switching images in kHz order, it is needed to rewrite in FPGA.
Although the Manual records that the original data is saved when rewriting in FPGA, in case of saving failure, could you provide the mcs files ?

Thanks so much.

Best regards,
Yuki

  • Hi Yuki,

Let us look into this. We have many engineers on holiday this week, so we will need time to review.

    Thank you,

    Matt

  • Yuki,

I think there is a slight misunderstanding of what the manual is saying.  The original PROM file is not automatically saved if you overwrite it.  The manual recommends saving a copy of it before you overwrite it.

This can be done from the Xilinx Impact tool (we originally used v9.x of the tool).  The APPS_FPGA PROM is not read protected, so that you can read it out and save the *.mcs configuration file locally before you make any changes to it.

The USER_FPGA code version that comes with your system is matched to the DLPR410 (DLPC410 configuration PROM).  Please look at the board and find a small 48 pin BGA PROM chip with a white label that says DLPR410 with letters and/or numbers following it.  That will tell you which version of the DLPC410 code is in the PROM.
