DLP4710EVM-LC: Fixed static image projection without DMD flipping

I'm trying to use DLP4710EVM-LC as a fixed-pattern projector.

Is there such 1-bit image projection mode without pre-, post- dark time?

I tried Image Freeze mode. It seems to show fixed image but have a dark time according to high-speed camera.

Hello Miyashita-san,

Welcome to DLP forum and thank you for your interest in DLP technology.

The pre and post dark time are required for pattern due to illumination switching and reliable operation of components.

The "image freeze" command freezes the Image buffer update. The operation to read image from buffer and display pattern is unchanged.

Could you please more details about your application and requirement? We will try to explore alternative method to support your application.

Requirement is simple and clear.

- fix DMD at certain state. (Then projected image will be 1bit binary)

- keep LED on. (Any color)

Then continuous 1bit binary image projection will be realized.

If you know good products to realize this projection, could you suggest for me?

I tried DLP471TP EVM too, but I couldn't find a good function for my purpose.

High resolution is better.

Couple of follow up question:

1. When do you change to next pattern? or you want to show only one pattern?

2. How long the pattern is displayed?

Note - DLP471TP EVM is targeted for video display application. It does not support structured light pattern display.

Only one. But it's not 1D pattern. A single 2D image.

2. How long the pattern is displayed?

Continuously. As long as possible.

Hello Miyashita-san,

Please review the DLPLCR4500 EVM. This EVM may meet your requirement.

In case you don't use the optical engine or can build/source one, you can evaluate DLPLCRC900DEVM. You need to purcahse serpate compnaon DMD EVm for this .

Please note that reliable operation of DMD does requires the mirror to toggled. You may observed permanent damages to mirror in your case use over time.
