We have way too much brightness (10X) with this EVM for our application, even with the LED currents at their minimum.
Are there alternate lower brightness LEDs compatible with this module?

Hello Martin,
Welcome to DLP forum and thank you for your interest in DLP technology.
Could you please share more details about your application and use case?
Modifying the DLPDLCR471TEVM for such a low brightness will be challenging and will require significant HW modification.
You have to not only change the LED but also make hardware modification to drive those LEDs. The optical engine uses Osram red (LE A P1MQ), green (LE CG P1AQ), and blue (LE B P1MQ) LEDs.
Changes to Optical engine - In order to drive at such low brightness, you need to replace with a small size LED. The FLYEYS in the optical engine is designed for a large size LED. When you use the small LED with same optics, the image will lack uniformity for each color. As a result you may see intensity variation and color artifacts in the image.
Hardware modification - The LED drive in the board is designed for 8V/10A. You have to make modification for selected LED. These changes could be very complex.

Thanks, Vivek.
We're using the DLP to expose images back onto film, frame by frame. For testing I have used 8x neutral density filters (.90 ND) on the copy lens.
Is there room in the illumination optical path for similar ND before the MMD?

Best Regards,
We sourced optical engine from manufacturer. We don't have specs or details. You have try and experiment.
