Hi,

I want to remote control of this evm through i2c interface from j11 connector to set rgb led current and rgb led enable\disable and detect video input status and chang splash image

Please tell me step by step solution.I do not want to use usb interface and I want to control with a simple microcontroller.

I must chane msp430 code (firmware in the site is final version and reliable?) to act as a intermediate

connect directly to dlpc3439? ( msp430 is a master in i2c bus with dlpc3439 how I can connect to this bus with my microcontroller?)

The best option would if you could change the source for Microcontroller in the EVM to meet your requirement. This Microcontroller controller is available in source format at the EVM page.

Hi,

I see a i2c slave receive interrupt routine in the code of msp430 that it can give some command. Is there any help about those commands?

Hi Jack,

In the EVM Cypress chip and MCU are using hand shake process to gain access to BUS. To gain access, drive the GPIO 5 (request) of Cypress chip high and wait till GPIO6 goes high (acknowledge).

You could implement similar request and acknowledge handshake in your MCU. In order to do that , you need to connect your MCU pin to registers R775& R774.

Hi,

I wasI solved the problem today

In i2c receive interrupt routin I read the text of the i2c interrupt function in the firmware code of the msp430, as well as the msp430 datasheet and the c guide for msp430, the dlpc3439 and dlpa3005 datasheets, and the dlpc3439 programmer guide, and realized that the msp430 program no needed to be changed!

I tested with stm32f746discovery board and by sending to 0x36 and receiving from 0x37 i2c address, I was able to communicate with msp430.

Transmit:In the first byte sent (index number zero), the register address dlpc3439 is sent and then the required data is sent.

Recieve:After transmit a read register address and required data we then receive data is filled from zero index byte.
