Hello,

I use DLPC3479 Display and Light Controller, and I would like to know the minimum exposure time.

According to Sequence Timings for DLPC347x Light Control Platform, for Internal Pattern Streaming Mode, there are 2 exposure time range for 8-bit monochrome pattern.

Regarding the Sequence Number 21, Exposure time is from 1677 us and this looks minimum for 8-bit mono.

But this is written as a special sequence with only 7 bits by footnote.

Does this mean I should use 7-bit gray scale (0-127) 1D pattern when I set exposure time range 1677-3463 us?

Hello Arai-san,

You can keep the pattern data consistent as 8bit. but when the sequence #21 gets selected based on the exposure time settings only first 7bits will be processed by the controller and the pattern will be displayed accordingly.

Thank you for your reply.

According to following discussion, the grayscale is displayed as total amount of ((2^x)/255)*Exposure_Time, where x is bit position from 0 to 7.

And If the LSB of 8-bit pattern is ignored, it means such 0-255 grayscale is changed to half of it, that is 0-127.

(For example, grayscale 100 and 101 in 8-bit should be desplayed as same grayscale when the LSB of 8-bit is ignored.)

Is this my understangding correct?
