DLP3010EVM-LC: DMD location on device

Part Number: DLP3010EVM-LC
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP3010, , DLP3010LC, DLPC3478, DLPA2005

Hello, I ask before purchasing just to be sure. According to specifications, a DMD (DLP3010, DLP .3 720p DMD) is included in the controller so no need to buy it separetely. I want to make sure it is included and also, consulting user's guide, figure 1, DMD  is indicated on the top right corner, but I see a sort of flexible band in there and not the DMD (expected a silver coated rectangle). So, If someone could provide a photo of the DMD on the device it would be helpful. Also, just want to make sure it works well on visible light range (it seems like a few models have  aspecific wavelenght range).
Help is appreciated.

User's guide

  • Hello Constanza,

Welcome to DLP forum and thank you for your interest in DLP technology.

Are you referring to the DLP3010EVM-LC evaluation module?

This is an evaluation module  and it does includes complete chipset -  DLP3478 controller, DLP3010LC DMD and power management IC DLPA2500. You don't need to order DMD separately. The installed in the optical engine . The DMD is connected to Electronic board through flex cable. The EE board has DLPC3478 controller and PMIC I DLPA2005.

Please note that EVM requires external power supply and requirement are described in  "External Power Supply Requirements" section in page 5 of EVM user guide. You need to purchase the power supply separately.

Location of DMD -  Please refer to figure 4 (page 6) of optical engine in the EVM user guide.  The DMD is mounted behind the heat sink and flex cable is connected to DMD.

Optical wavelength - The DLP3010LC DMD is designed for wavelength from 420 nm to 700 nm. Please refer to "Recommended Operating Conditions" table on page 8 of DLP3010LC DMD datasheet for the details of the specification.
