DLP4500NIR: Difference between DLP4500 and DLP4500NIR

Dear Texas Instruments:

I would like to know the difference between DLP4500 and DLP4500NIR.

I already know that the window is suitable for NIR at DLP4500NIR.

Is there any other difference between them?

Welcome to the E2E forum and thank you for your interest in DLP technology!

The DLP4500NIR and DLP4500 are both spatial light modulator (SLM) DMDs. However, the DLP4500NIR differs from the DLP4500 in the light wavelengths and end application. The DLP4500NIR is designed to modulate near-infrared (NIR) light with the intention of acting as an element detector. The DLP4500, on the other hand, is designed for visible light with the end application of a display device.

Hello Kokoro-san,

The AR coating on windows are different. The both DMD have Corning Eagle XG window. The AR coating on DLP4500 is for visible range (400nm to 700 nm).

The DLP4500NIR has AR coating for NIR range 700 nm to 2500 nm. Please refer to following application note on "Wavelength Transmittance Considerations for DLP® DMD Window" for details:
