DLP9000: Strobe behaver

Part Number: DLP9000

What is the functionality of the RESET_IRQZ pin ?

What will indicate if the DLP9000 RESET_STROBE input is not activated (no pulses )

Thanks

Arik

  • Hello Arik,

Regarding the RESET_IRQZ the power generation circuitry for power management uses EN_OFFSET to let the DMD know that the reset waveform voltages are good.  If not this triggers the DMD to send an interrupt via RESET_IRQZ to the Primary controller letting the controller know there is an issue with one or more of the voltages.

The RESET_STROBE input tells the internal mirror clocking pulse driver to step between various voltages.  This creates the "mirror clocking pulses" to move the micromirrors to match the state of the memory in the CMOS cells below the mirrors.  If your DMD is showing patterns that can be changed, then these pulses are being received.  The pulses are quite short - on the order of 14 ns or 29 ns.

If the DMD is switching patterns but you cannot see the pulses on this line then the measurement system is not set up correctly.  If the DMD is not switching patterns and no pulses can be seen on this line, then further troubleshooting would be needed to uncover the issue.
