DLP3030-Q1: What is the main function of TPS3808G01Q1 in the reference design?

Part Number: DLP3030-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC120-Q1

HI,

What is the main function of TPS3808G01Q1 in the reference design? When monitoring the P12V network power supply voltage is lower than 5.557V, pull down the PWRGOOD pin of DLPC12 to power off the DMD chip to protect the DMD chip? It seems that the DLP3030 cannot be powered down abnormally?

      Are there any other considerations?

  • Hi,

Yes that is a correct understanding. Please see the following description from the DLPC120-Q1 datasheet on PWRGOOD input signal description.

You can look at section 9 of the TPS3808Gxx-Q1 datasheet for more information and recommendations on the peripheral components connected to the TPS3808G01Q1.

Also keep in mind the MR (manual reset) pin is connected to the park signal from the DLPC120 which is important for correct functionality and operation. Note the blue arrows are the correct orientation of the signals, the schematic had incorrect arrow directions. The Park signal should be an output from the DLPC120 and sent to the TPS3808G01Q1 as an input signal.

    Thanks,

    Alex Chan
