DLPC120-Q1: DLPC120 I2C port1 address

Part Number: DLPC120-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320F28023

HI :

The I2C PORT1 of the DLPC120 is connected to our master MCU for debugging. What is the I2C address of the I2C PORT1 of the DLPC120?

  • Hi,

Unfortunately this I2C1 is only used for TI internal debugging and was not meant to be used by customers. The connector J9 is not meant to be installed.

    Thanks,

    Alex Chan

  • Does this mean that our main control MCU cannot obtain the abnormal work information of the DLP part through this I2C PORT1?
In consideration of functional safety, what is the solution for our main control MCU to obtain the working status information of the DLP part?

  • Hi,

You can still talk to the DLPC120 through the MCU talking to the TMS320F28023 Piccolo part.

That is how the current DLPC120 Control Program works is the SPI Bus talks to the Picccolo MCU through SPI. The Piccolo is then communicating to the DLPC120 through its own I2C 2 channel. If the SPI Bus needs to flash the ASIC application flash, the SPI Bus will switch over.

    Thanks,

    Alex Chan
