DLPLCR4500EVM: Using external trigger to sync DLP pattern presentation with microscope

Part Number: DLPLCR4500EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP4500

Hi Team,

We would like to ask your help regarding our customer's inquiry below.

We have a TI LightCrafter4500 to generate visual stimuli in a microscopy setup. Right now the LighCrafter runs non-synced to the microscope as a second monitor of the PC that it is connected to (internal trigger of the dlp is used). We would like to sync both. The microscope generates a 5V digital signal that should be used to trigger presentation of the current pattern provided by the PC. If the digital signal is low, the dlp should not present any pattern. More specifically, the digital signal has a frequency of ca. 500Hz. Can the dlp for instance generate a triggered pattern every 2 ms lasting ca. 1 ms? I saw in the manual that there are trigger inputs but I am not sure whether these trigger inputs would allow the required implementation.

Regards,

Danilo
