Hi Team,
Can you provide the Mechanical resonance frequency of the DLP5500?
Thanks in advance.

Marvin,
The resonance frequency is quite high, but unpublished. For typical terrestrial vibrations the DMD is unaffected since the frequency is high enough that there is no coupling of the energy.
Is there a concern regarding mechanical shock or vibration?
Fizix
Hi Fizix,
They needed the information as a reference for applying submicron coatings. Can you provide this?
Thanks!
Regards,
Marvin
Marvin,
As mentioned it is not a published value and can vary some with process changes. I am not sure how this relates to applying submicron coatings. Are you able to help us understand the application?
Fizix
Hi Fizix,
I will ask for further information from the customer and get back to you.

Marvin
Hi Fizix,
Thank you for waiting.
The customer was considering using the DMDs as part of a stabilization system, as an element that allows controlling the light flux or as an element to control the continuity of the coating through the fluorescence of the layers. Due to the possibility that the DMDs will be moved during operation and as part of tests, they were interested in information regarding the natural frequency.
I hope this information helps.
Regards,
Marvin
Hi Marvin,
Thank you for the additional information.
It might be more efficient to have a short call on this request. The micromirrors are actually moving for every frame, either crossing over from one state to the other, or being addressed to the same side. There is some level of movement for each operation. Please let us know if the customer needs more information on the operation of the DMD and we can decide on the best way to do this.
Regards,
Matt
Hi Matt,
Thank you. I will reach out to the customer if they are available for a call.
I'll update you soon.

Marvin
