DLPDLCR2000EVM: Image distorted

Hi Team,

A customer is having an issue with the output projected by DLPDLCR2000EVM interfaced with a Rasberry pi. The projected image was jittering and distorted.

I have instructed the customer to use equal-length jumper wire and relax the timing requirements which they lowered from 32 MHz to about 8 MHz, which solved the flickering issue (almost) entirely. Unfortunately, the image was slanted diagonally as seen below:

Can you help further?

Hello Marvin,

It is likely that the input data is a different size than the native resolution of the 0.2 DMD, causing image warping. I would recommend setting the correct nHD resolution, 640x360, on both the Raspberry Pi and the controller via I2C to see if that resolves the issue.

Hi Maxine,

Thank you for the suggestion. It seems to fix the issue.

I have a follow-up question, the customer would like the DMD to reflect an external light source that does not need 3 colors, just a way to set the single micromirrors into a specific state. Is there a way to do this with the EVM?

Hello Marvin,

I am glad the issue was resolved. As for your follow-up question, the DLPDLCR2000 EVM cannot be controlled in that way. It is from the Display line and is RGB only. For the requested application, the customer must use a Light Control DMD.
