DLPC7540EVM: XPR, GUI and programming

Part Number: DLPC7540EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP471TEEVM, DLP4710LC, DLP471TP, DLP471TE, DLP3010LC, DLP2010LC

Hello,

I want to use DLPC7540EVM together with DLP471TEEVM as spatial light modulator. Since I don't need 4K resolution, do I have to use the XPR actuator or can I leave the port blank?

Also when I check the readme file of the GUI, it shows the supported EVMs are DLP2010LC, DLP3010LC, DLP4710LC, DLP471TP. There is no DLP471TE. I just want to confirm if I can control DLP471TE with the GUI.

The last question is that can I control the DLPC7540EVM with matlab or python? Are there any supported files?

Kind regards.

  • Hello Hui,

Our team will look at this to see if the GUI supports this EVM.  Please allow a couple of days to investigate this.

  • Hello again Hui,

Our video team indicates that you should be able to provide a 1080 signal and it will display that, so that you should be able to leave the port blank.

It may, per the Programmer's Guide, need to be sent an XPR Enable Mode Command (Opcode: 29h \ Destination: 4) and write a value of 2 to Byte 0.

Also the GUI should work with the DLPC754x controller which should work with the DLP471TE.  You may have been looking at the Pico readme which is in the same folder as the Display readme.

There is no native support for Matlab or Python control, although it is possible to create Python scripts and run them from the GUI.

Let us know if this works for you.
