DLP® Pico technology is a chipset solution which typically includes a DMD, a controller and Power Management IC (PMIC).  The chipset along with accompanying firmware for the controller are designed for a specific application like video display, structure light pattern generation or 3D printing.

The controller firmware checks for the following at boot up stage to ensure reliable operation:

  1. A valid and supported chipset combination of DMD, controller and PMIC.
  2. It also checks for the connectivity including illumination (LED).

The firmware will shut down if any of the above test fails.
