Hi, 

I would like to make a wider projection in a shorter distance, that's why I was thinking if it would be fesable to change the lens, and use a fisheye lens.

My goal is to project from around 1 meter and cover 1 square meter.

If you think in any other solution, like using mirrors, external lens, ... would be nice to know if someone has experience in that topic

    Hello,

    Thank you for your patience. 

    The projector in the EVM has 1.6 throw ratio i.e., it creates one meter wide image from a distance of 1.6 meter.  Your application requires a throw ratio of 1.0.

    In order to change the throw ratio, you have to open the projection module and replace the projection lens with desired throw ratio. It is very challenging because this module is very compact module and not designed for such changes. In addition, you will need details of design specification for the optics. We do not have that information.

    You cannot change the throw ratio by using  external lens only because the lens needs to be placed at pupil plane.  In case of the projection module, the pupil plane is inside projection lens path and cannot be accessed.

    You have following options:

    1. Use fold mirror to fold the projection path, this will give you the flexibility to adjust the distance between mirror and projection surface. The projection module will be placed at 90 degree/perpendicular to mirror -screen path.

    2. Look for an off self-projector with desired  throw ratio and see if you could use that.

    3. Refer to optical Module search tool and look for an optical engine with low throw ratio. I could find DLP2000 optical engine with throw ratio of 1.3. Hopefully this may work for you.
