DLPLCRC410EVM: DLP product selection

Part Number: DLPLCRC410EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC900, DLPLCRC900DEVM, DLPLCRC900EVM

Hi Experts,

Good day! This is posted to help our customer. Here is the full details of inquiry below.

I'm looking for some recommendations for products.

I'm planning on working with either a DMD DLP evaluation board, or a DLP LightCrafter Display 2000 Evaluation Module

And my end goal is to have a system where I create a "movie" or list of matrices in matlab, and send them through a video card into the evaluation module either to be played on mirrors via the dmd or played through the dlp module Do you know what video cards would work with either module I'm looking at purchasing? The DMD module is the DLPLCRC410 Evaluation Module if that helps.

Thank you in advance for the support.

Best regards,
Jonathan
  • Jonathan,

Be aware that the DLPLCRC410 does not have any native video interface.  Patterns can be sent over USB, but the frame rate is typically in the single digits.

It is also possible to design a receiver in the APPS_FPGA to be fed through the

Are there a set of requirements like pattern rate, 8-bit vs 1-bit patterns, resolution, etc . . .

If the user is wanting to send in a video feed they may want to consider something like one of the DLPC900 based EVMs.  They can start by looking at the DLPLCRC900EVM or the DLPLCRC900DEVM.  These are in scarce supply at the moment, but we hope to have more in in the near future.

The C900 EVMs have a receiver on board that should work with most video cards.  I personally like the nVidia Quaddro Pn00 series cards.  They are a decent price and give you much more control than a consumer video card.
