DLP4500: How many patterns at most could be projected in sequence using pattern sequence mode ?

Part Number: DLP4500
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC350

Hi DLP4500 team,

I'm using DLP4500EVM to project pattern sequence. I understand that the internal flash can store up to 64 24-bit images. Right now, I can successfully project 1536 (64*24) 1-bit image sequence using the pattern sequence [variable exposure] mode with the internal flash source. But when I increase the number of patterns (e.g. 2000), the GUI just crashes. Specifically, when I load the .ini file (1536 patterns) and click 'Send', the sequence could be successfully validated and the patterns could be well projected; but if I modify the .ini file to 2000 patterns, the GUI just crashes immediately when I click 'Send'. I then change the pattern source to video port, same issue.

So I'd like to know if I can set a larger number of sequence in the .ini file without crashing in pattern sequence mode using video port source. If I have up to 10000 patterns needed to be projected, is there a way that I can still make it in the pattern sequence mode ? If not, my only choice now is using the video mode ? If using the video mode, how to synchronize the video frames with the external DAQ ?

Best regards,

Shaoxin
