DLP3010EVM-LC: Pattern Generation

I am using the DLP3010EVM LC.

The requirement is generation of binary patterns and projecting the same.

The pattern is similar to 

I have downloaded the latest version of the DLPDLC - GUI.

I am referring to the 'Internal Pattern Section' of the 'Light Control' Tab from the document dlpu074a.

The step 2 'Add 1D patterns' from the Pattern Sets radio button provides an option to upload an image. 

How to create these images according to the pattern that needs to be projected?

    Hello User,

    The patterns are not created by the DLPDLC-GUI. The users need to create the 1D patterns for Internal pattern streaming mode for their application. The key thing is to keep the resolution as supported 1280x720 for DLP3010EVM-LC.

    Patterns can be projected by the DLPDLC - GUI ? I mean I can project patterns using DLP3010EVMLC right ? Kindly guide how to create 1D patterns for internal streaming mode.

    Hello User,

    Yes, you can use DLP3010EVM-LC to project this 1D pattern in internal streaming mode by connecting the EVM with the GUI.

    You have multiple ways to create the desired pattern. For instance, you can use MATLAB, photoshop, or other pattern making software.

    Unfortunately, we have limited support to create the custom pattern for users.

    Thank you for the reply. We have created a bit-map image using Photoshop, where the Image dimensions (in pixels) are 1280 * 720 and the depth is 1 bit.

    In Interna Patterns tab 

    1. In create pattern set 1 bit vertical pattern option was selected.

    2. In Add 1D patterns column the image was uploaded but it gave an error saying that 'Image width does not match the display width'.

    Ques 1: In the Create pattern sets what is the significance of number of patterns field, if I have single image.

    Ques 2: For a single image do we need to set trigger 1 and 2 outputs.

    PFA the image file generated for the same.

    Hello Sharayu,

    1. if you are referring the number shows after Pattern Set (i.e. Pattern Set (1)), it's the name of the pattern set you uploaded. The number before the Pattern Set name is the order of  the Pattern Set. It also shows in the next Pattern Set Order page. 

    2. The trigger in/out signals are used for camera capture and other system controls. They depend on how the user wants to use the trigger in/out. 

    I would recommend you review the DLP3010 Light Control EVM user's guide, DLP Light Control EVM GUI Tool User Guide, and DLPC3478 datasheet to better understand the DLP3010EVM-LC.
