DLP4710EVM-LC: Display problem with error picture

Part Number: DLP4710EVM-LC

Dear,

I brought a set of DLP4710EVM-LC device from Mouser (mouser.cn) on March 23rd, but a device problem happened within a month. When the device was powered on,  the display screen is error, the left half cannot display picture, with white or black, but the right half can display correct picture. I have contacted the TI supporter of China, they let me flash the firmware.  After do this, the problem temporarily disappeared, but server days later, it happened again and again. Tomorrow,  I found when this problem is happening, I just switched the power and then power it again, it may solve this problem temporarily sometimes. So I think this may cause by the hardware, but not the software. I have contact the sale of Mouser, they let me contact the supplier offers by the E2E forum firstly to make sure if it is the hardware problem.

Thanks.

Best wisher!

  • Hello user,

    Welcome to the E2E forum!

When you re-flash the firmware on the EVM, can you confirm if both master and slaver controllers are programmed properly? If both controllers are programmed properly and you mentioned that the issued could be recovered after power cycle, then I suspect it could be the hardware issue. You should contact Mouser for further customer service about returning/replacing process. This statement serves as approval for RMA granted the device meets the warranty criteria.

    Regards,

    Lori

  • I am sure when I re-flash the firmware both the master and slaver controller are programmed sucessfully. This problem happened sometimes,   These days, it somewhile happened when the EVM was power off after a few hours.

  • Hello User,

In such a case, it is advisable to have the EVM replaced. Please feel free to use this comment as approval for RMA granted that the device is still under warranty.

    Regards,

    Austin
