DLP2010LC: DLP2010LCFQJ related issues

Hello,

The following image was taken by DMD2021 (DLP2010LCFQJ) under a magnifying glass. The defect after assembling this chip into our optical machine component is that there are vertical lines and transparent light spots on the image similar to the one in the above picture. Could you please help analyze why the DMD2021 chip saw abnormalities in the image under a magnifying glass? What kind of testing was done before shipment?

    Welcome to DLP forum and thank you for your interest in DLP technology.

    I noticed two type of image issue here:

    1. Image 1 and Image 4, 5 and 6 - When you are looking under magnification, you may see random pattern if DMD was not powered down properly. Not all mirrors are in flat state.

    2. Image 2 and Image 3 - The vertical lines are indication of potential permanent damage to DMD mirrors due to miss handling.  Any noise or glitch in the DMD signal can cause such damage. It typically occurs if the DMM flux cable is loose or hot unplagued.

    These are not production or image quality issue but seems to be mishandling of device.
